The official retail title of the original was WANDERERS FROM Ys, and Ys III was originally only a common name, but in later ports the official retail title has become Ys III or Ys III -Wanderers from Ys-.

Later, when it was ported to the PC Engine (PCE) CD-ROM2, the main title was changed to Ys III, and since then Ys III has been the main title in all ports, while on some systems the original main title Wanderers from Ys is used as a subtitle.

The graphics of Valestein Castle were changed to a sunset, and many of the later ports were based on this MSX2 version.

Differences overseas (1)

This was followed in 2012 by a newly localized version of the original 2005 PC release.
