The gore in the home Neo Geo version was fixed at the equivalent of arcade gore level 1 (no gore effects, no "finishing move" effects, and no way to change the setting) out of regard for the killing of a grade-6 girl by a classmate at a Sasebo elementary school on 2004-6-1, before release, but because there was no notice at all before release, buyers complained in numbers and it became a matter of controversy.

A petition was raised in protest, but SNK Playmore refused to accept it on the grounds of protecting personal information.

It was the first home version to port the arcade game as it was, with no censorship.

At release it was the same as DotEmu's Humble Bundle build, but an update in mid 2019-6 changed the Windows version alone to the Code Mystics build used for the Steam version (the price was also raised a little to match the Steam version).
