In the magazine Yuge 2003 No.07, the writer Hayato Iketani noted that this was the first Family Computer game with a female protagonist, and rated the character design positively, saying that "the illustration by Hiroshi Fuji on the package also spurred on Valkyrie's popularity".

Being one of the first third-party companies for the console, Japanese company Namco was seeing great success with their releases on Nintendo's highly-popular Family Computer.

The same magazine's special supplement "Famicom ROM Cartridge All Catalog" (1991-5-10 issue) pointed out that there is no conversation system and that the puzzles have to be solved without help, but rated the controls and the clarity of the items positively. It also rated it as good value compared with other titles at 3900 yen at the time, and rated the character design positively, saying "the cute characters are nice".

In 1989, production was announced of Valkyrie no Bouken II: Harukanaru Toki no Tobira, a working title, the direct sequel to this game, as software for the MSX2 hobby computer. A demo was included in issue 4 of Disc Station (Compile), and Micom BASIC Magazine (Dempa Shimbunsha) ran a call for enemy character designs, but it was cancelled.

That year an MSX2 game, Valkyrie no Bōken II, was announced; although the game demo was included on DiskStation Compilation No. 4, its production was canceled.

Bugs and tricks (1)

Breaking off a game used a password system, and a trick was discovered in which swapping the characters at certain positions produced various effects, which filled the game magazines of the time.
